It’s been a long decade for the fashion world where many interesting and new trend have come up against some age old stayers.
The naughties have brought many vibrant colours, advanced designs and some complete out of left field pieces.
Newfashion.com.au takes a look at some of the hits and misses in the past ten years.
MISS: Navel gazing
The single worst idea in many decades was the notion that grown women should show off their naked stomachs. Why on earth the belly button is an areas we should be worshiping is beyond me.
MISS; Fluro colours
For some reason designers thought that high visibility colours would be great for the streets. He fad died quite quickly, although you may still find a few people keeping it alive, or at least attempting to.
MISS: Over expensive ‘it’ fashion designs
Clothes that take a months of work to buy is clearly not worth it. Especially when you spill a bottle of red wine over it the first weekend you wear it.
MISS: Skintight anything
Especially skinny jeans.
MISS: Crocs footwear
Crocs are cute on toddlers and good for gardening, not for anything else.
HIT: Vintage and vintage-inspired classics
Just like red wine, they get better with age.
HIT: Hats on men and women
Fashionable and sun smart!
HIT: Wide belts
They work magic for those with a waist.
HIT: Cardigans
Age-old classic which should never die
