Just as the warm weather takes a sudden dive, models are asked to grin and bare it all, stripping down to barely there bikini’s at day three of the RAFW. Day three sparked a summer burst of fashion, contrast to the weather around.

Those in the front row got an up close view of the ultra tight, micro-skimpy swimwear worn by models show after show. After three days of Australian designer talent and more than 20 shows filled with tight, short mini skirts and dresses, the bathing suits on day three still managed to shock those who got the ‘full’ front row view.

Although a bit cheeky, and certainly designed for the younger generation, the bikini designs were bright and oozed of clever Australian production. April Marie showed off her simple one and two piece designs filled with tropical fun. The bathers featured photo-realistic foliage and animal prints, making it a jungle display.

White Sands also put the bikini at the forefront with their black two-piece design. This bold, white pin-spots and large buttons stood out on the runway, making it a memorable swimwear design.

Upcoming designer Dhini Pararajasingham had a lot to be nervous about after previously being labelled the ‘next best thing’ in Australian designer talent at her three shows. Her collection took stage before the sudden influx of bathing suit mayhem.

Although her collection was a delight to fashions A-list, it was the Kini Bikini label that stole the show. The Crochet style sling-front tiny bikini’s were the highlight of day three, making models grit their teeth for the cold Sydney conditions.

Crochet seemed to be the overall theme on day three, making it a pattern style for all kinds of weather.
