Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen returned to home turf last week, owning the catwalk at Sao Paulo Fashion Week. Bundchen looked cool and confident, modelling a range of garments from the Spring/Summer collection by Colcci.

The Brazilians were quick to welcome the famous model home after she has spent most of the year in America’s New York City. Collections from the catwalk were not short of colour and racy Brazilian style, the famous Brazilian beachwear line a hit with the fashion crowds.

The June spring collection is the most anticipated event in Latin America and in 2009 the fashion followers were certainly not disappointed. The Sao Paulo Fashion Week brought colour and pizzazz to the runway, making it a memorable occasion for lovers of Brazilian fashion.

Each year the Sao Paulo Fashion week brings thousands to Brazil and from the very beginning has structured the whole textile industry. The fashion week has not only put Brazilian fashion on the map but has marked campaigns for the prevention of cancer and aids, hunger, waste recycling, education and more.
