Melbourne is still glowing with designer talent after the third day of Melbourne’s finest fashion festivities. The L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival has proven to be a hit for Victorians and even those from abroad with a variety of ‘well known’ celebrities there to see what we have on offer.
The Paris runway opened with floral and flares, and for those who knew it, the all too familiar ruffles and frills donned the runway achieving popularity, second year running.
Models were ruffled from head to toe, combined with bold colour to feature in Nevenka’s opening collection. More colour followed in the collections to come, Australian designer “Fool” making sure the designs were noticed. And noticed they were. Models were decked in all colours of the rainbow, with balloon like headpieces and slick stylish, no, not stunning designer heals, but gumboots to top the “Raver” look.
Aside from the splash of colour there were a range of stylish shades of black. Mini dresses, skirts and long jackets gave the runway a sophisticated feel. The catwalk was a good combination of fun and edgy, mixed with a dark, sharp funky feel. Houndstooth print and high waisted denim proved to be a “geek-chic” hit and is sure to be on the future trend list
It was a mix of both light and shade for a runway double up that couldn’t be missed.
