Great news for the Middle East fashion world, with Islamabad-based designer, Asifa Qaisar, launching an exhibition of her new fashion assortments at a local hotel in the Pakistan city during the week.
The two-day exhibition saw some of the top items in her fashion brand, K’s, range on display for the public yesterday.
Former federal minister, Nilofar Bakhtiar, inaugurated the event in presence of a large number of fashion lovers.
The range included many traditional dresses with unique cuts and designs, as well many other exotic pieces.
The brand also carries a huge amount of exquisitely designed bridal wear, and has plenty of colour options for the public.
Spokesperson for the brand, K’s, Asma Mumtaz, said the items presented were pocket friendly. She said the displayed stuff reflected both eastern and western styles.
“This is the first exhibition of Asifa Qaisar in Islamabad. Its main emphasis is on style and cuts rather than embroidery or other embellishments,” she said.
“We feel it is high time that we should revive our shalwar kameez and make them trendier to give it a futuristic vision and brilliance.”
The news comes as a huge step forward for the country, which has been starved of equal rights for the majority of its existence.
Former minister Nilofar Bakhtiar said the exhibition will not only showcase some great future trends for the nation, but also liberate the struggling sex within Pakistan.
“I am overjoyed to be a part of this dress exhibition as these events promote artistic visions otherwise, if art and cultural activities diminishes, there will be obscurity everywhere,” she said.
“No doubt, we are in a state of warfare, but we should promote such healthy activities to boost the morale of the artists.”
“Pakistani women have all the guts to rise: the only problem that halted the progress is lack of leadership.”
