The Charlie Brown fashion enterprise was pieced together by the designer with the same name, only to become one of Australia’s most recognisable, leading fashion designers we have today.Charlie Brown continues to make a name for herself in Australian fashion, year after year designing exquisite garments that have fashion audiences in awe. Her label has been described as feminine and flawless, Brown’s clothing capturing a wide audience range.
Brown started her designer career in 1982 where she worked in retail for Esprit, developing a passion for fashion and design. Her love for fashion started here and after gaining valuable experience, Brown moved to Australia in 1985.
After several years of designing at Howard Showers, Brown decided it was her time to shine 1995 was the year when the label Charlie Brown was born. Her business partnership with Danny Avidan (whom is now her husband) flourished, as too did her self-titled label Charlie Brown.
Charlie Brown’s collections are sexy, playful, beautifully tailored and constructed and give women a unique style of their own. Her garments capture a huge segment of the market that no other designer can, her innate marketing talents and design vision make the Charlie Brown label one of a kind.
Each year she continues to move forward, creating designer garments to unveil at fashion shows in Australia and worldwide, as well as expanding the label to include red carpet evening wear. Her glamorous Princess Charlotte line, released in 2000 was a huge hit and Brown continues to dress famous faces.
Brown now has six boutique stores throughout Australia and her14 year legacy continues to grow. Her garments sell well nationwide and also at international retailers. Brown’s feminine clothing is worn by Australian and overseas celebrities making her label well recognised.
