Hill grew up in a quiet small town of Tasmania and dreamt of making a name for herself in the fashion industry. One of five children in a catholic family, Hill was brought up in the secluded small town, dreaming of opening her own fashion store in the big wide fashion world.

It wasn’t until Hill moved to Melbourne that her designer talent was recognised. She moved to Melbourne at 17 and was almost immediately noticed for her ravishing sense of style.

Dressed in her waitressing uniform, Hill was asked to work for a fashion store on Chapel Street, South Yarra. Melbourne’s fashion welcomed Hill with open arms, staying 15 years at the fashion store before creating the label that became Alannah Hill.

Today, Hill heads her own lucrative empire with her fierce and different designs. The Alannah Hill label creates an idiosyncratic and intensely feminine look, making it an enticing brand to wear. Her signature sequin application makes her designs a true one off.

Hill has a growing number of boutiques throughout Australia, selling her own designer clothes.
