Sports stars tend to have less fashion sense than most, concentrating on their athletic abilities rather than their clothing. Fair enough, they chose skill over silk and most athletes have a basic idea of fashion and try to look respectable when in the public eye.But Leisel Jones has defied the average, laid back sport star image and has transformed her sporty look.

Jones was almost unrecognisable when she flaunted her new image at the Victorian Institute of Sport Awards of Excellence.

Here, she replaced her blonde hair and cutesy sporty girl image for a darker, more feminine kind. Now Jones has a dark brunette bob and wears shades of clothing to match. The black, glamorous cocktail dress was teamed perfectly with a stunning pear of peep-toe heels.

The new look is said to have been a product of a tough break up with fiancé Marty Pask, but this dramatic change has actually worked in her favour. She should now feel confident she can step out in public feeling sheik and glamorous.

Jones has enjoyed being able to change her image and have fun with her fashion style. At least she gained some fashion sense from her situation and should continue to explore her conversion to the fashion side.
